Case Study: Civil Engineering Project
New Factory Unit
Contract  New Factory Unit
Client B.S. Specialist Products
Engineer The Millward Partnership.
Contract Value  £670,000
Carried out January to July 2007

Description
These works involved the construction of a new industrial production unit for an expanding construction material supplier and manufacturer.
After aiding in the final design process to give the Client a more usable and cost effective scheme we commenced work breaking up the existing over site concrete, which was recycled on site for re-use within the construction.
The main works consisted of a steel framed building with the addition of internal office and amenities and various concrete structures required for the site’s production requirements.
The lack of existing site drainage and the poor ground permeability meant that an innovative, eco-friendly solution for the site paving and drainage was required. This took the form of large diameter perforated storage tanks combined with Sudgrid, a porous geo-textile surface suitable for forklift truck and articulated lorry use.
